While scrolling through my Baidu Cloud albums yesterday, I stumbled upon a treasure trove of memories—photos from my Yunnan adventure eight years ago. At first glance, I assumed they were taken with a professional camera, but a quick check of the metadata revealed these stunning shots were actually captured by my trusty old LG G5.

Figure 1 transports me back to Cangshan Mountain, where the camera perfectly captured the interplay of light and shadow, creating a beautifully natural bokeh effect that still impresses me today.
Figure 2 showcases the breathtaking scenery of Shangri-La’s Pudacuo National Park—the raw image (Figure 3) was already gorgeous, but a quick touch-up in Snapseed made it truly frame-worthy.

I was a loyal LG user from the G4 through G6, though fate wasn’t kind to any of them. My G4 fell prey to the notorious motherboard curse, but thankfully still under warranty—JD.com came through with a full refund. The G5 met its end in a Vietnamese pickpocket’s hands, while the G6 took an unexpected swim…

These days, my vivo X80 Pro delivers stunning results in perfect lighting (especially golden hour shots). But when it comes to indoor or overcast conditions, close-up photos turn out surprisingly mediocre—the algorithm seems to have a mind of its own. For professional product shots, I still turn to my reliable iPhone 8, which consistently delivers true-to-life colors and razor-sharp focus that clients appreciate.

It’s crazy how well the LG G5 held up over the years! The photos really do look impressive, especially when you consider the advancements in mobile cameras since then. I wonder if the VIVO camera can match that level of detail and clarity today. It’s fascinating to compare old tech to new in this way.
That’s really impressive! I never would have guessed those photos were taken with an older phone. It just goes to show how good the LG G5’s camera was back then. I wonder how the VIVO compares in terms of low-light performance.
Thank you for your kind words! You’re right, the LG G5 had a fantastic camera for its time. In terms of low-light performance, the VIVO model tends to perform slightly better due to its more recent advancements in sensor technology. It’s amazing to see how far mobile cameras have come in just a few years! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
