Last night was absolutely spine-chilling.
Sometime between four and five in the dead of morning,
I suddenly heard the eerie *beep beep* of the speaker connecting.
Every hair on my body stood on end.
Then came ghostly, broken strains of music—
only to be interrupted by another ominous *beep beep*, the music now barely a whisper.
Gathering every ounce of courage, I crept into the living room.
The sound resembled someone fumbling with their phone in complete darkness.
Pure terror gripped me.
I yanked the speaker’s plug without hesitation.
Had I not acted,
I dread to think what other nightmare might have started playing.
The mere thought makes my blood run cold.
Now, every tiny creak and rustle
sends my heart pounding like a drum.
